What happens if there are disciplinary issues?

Serious discipline issues are uncommon because students are kept busy and entertained with a wide variety of science activities.  The morning module and afternoon modules focus on different sciences to help keep the students focused and interested.  As this camp is held in a scientific laboratory setting discipline issues are very important.  At the beginning the camp each student and his/her parent is required to sign a safety contract.  The students also watch a safety video that discusses the imporance of proper behavior in a lab setting.  Disciplinary issues are handled on a case by case basis.  Normally, a short discussion with the student(s) involved, takes care of the issue.  If this alone does not correct the issue an instructor will contact the parents.  As a last resort only, the student will be removed from the camp and the parent will be called and asked to collect their child.
